This is by far the biggest concern that most people have. The answer is simple, we are very thorough on our orientations and instructions. Secondly, the renter is responsible for any damage either through their insurance or personally. Remember, they are renting a motorhome, which for most people is a new experience, and they are usually more intimidated by the motorhome than they are likely to abuse it.
We do not limit the amount of time or the time of the year that you can use your motorhome. We appreciate you booking your unit out when you know that you are going to want to use it, but we do not mind if you call last minute to see if it is available. If your unit is rented when you want to use it then the rental takes priority. If you call and your unit is already booked on a rental then it is your choice to ask us if we can move that rental to another unit. This is one of the reasons that we like to have similar coaches, because we can switch a rental to another unit without effecting the rental. We will not assume you want us to check because often the owner would rather have the rental income than use the unit. If you want us to move the rental and we are fully booked then your next option is to rent a unit from us knowing that you are getting money on your unit.
That is why you have us managing your unit. We will take care of warranty repairs and get the renter back on the road. This does not happen very often, but when it does it is important to know how and where to get service. We will handle all of the billing and warranty reimbursement if it applies.
NO. Sorry but that is the short of it. Most people want to use their own stuff, and we do not want to inventory your belongings after each rental. We need to be focusing on if there is damage, cleaning the unit, etc. However, we will gladly store your camping stuff here at our location and put it in the motorhome when you will be using it.
Yes. We will lock out the hitch on your unit, so remember to have us un-lock it when you pick up your motorhome. This way we can monitor who is towing with your unit and check for brake damage after the rental. We are doing this to protect your investment, not to prevent you from using your unit in the manner that you want.
We want you to return the unit just as if you were renting it. This means on time, full of fuel, and clean. If we need to clean your unit before the next rental then you will be charged for the cleaning, and those charges will appear on your monthly report. We do not mind cleaning the unit - as a matter of fact, some of our owners consider this a benefit of owning a unit. They get more useable time in the motorhome and think that having us clean it is well worth the money.
No. All of our rentals are considered no smoking and no pet units.
We request an insurance binder from all renters, and owner managers are no different. You and RV's To Go have commercial insurance on the motorhome at all times, but when you are using the motorhome for personal use then you must provide a binder as well.
We will send you an activity report on the 15th of the month for all of the rental activity from the previous month. If there are no rentals then it will say "No activity". You will see the rentals, mileage charges, insurance charges, and any maintenance that was done on your unit.
The standard Owner Management Program is designed to be three years. Because you receive such a discount on the purchase price of the motorhome you are required to leave the unit in the program through the balance of the calendar year. It is up to us to do a good job for you so that you will renew the agreement for a second year, then hopefully a third year as well. The are times when an owner can only commit to one or two years because they may want the unit full time, and we understand that as well. The different lengths of the program may determine how you would depreciate your unit while in the rental fleet. We suggest that you consult a tax professional for your individual situation.
